The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum is home to Festival of Outback Opera’s Gala concert Dark Sky Serenade and all year round to the largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils in the world! The Museum is split between three facilities, the Fossil Preparation Laboratory, Collection Room and Dinosaur Canyon. To avoid disappointment, please book guided tours in advance.
Visit the first museum in the world dedicated to a song. The new Waltzing Matilda Centre boasts state of the art interpretation, telling the story of Waltzing Matilda. Please note that the Museum will be closed on Friday 16 May.
Enjoy one of the world’s most unique cinematic and live performance venues under the Outback Queensland sky. The Royal Theatre offers a Nostalgia Night on Wednesdays and a feature film on Friday nights (The Adventures of Priscilla – Queen of the desert on Fri 16 May). During the Festival of Outback Opera, movies start at 8pm, allowing you to catch a movie after the Festival of Outback Opera events on Wednesday and Friday.
